World Parkinson’s Day has been taking place on April 11 for over 20 years. It is dedicated to the English doctor James Parkinson, who first described the symptoms of the neurological disease in 1817. Today we would also like to seek more understanding for those affected. Namely with the “Parkinson tulip”, which was bred by a Dutch gardener in 1980. This year, it also stands for the fact that we can only grow in life’s challenges together.
